RESOLUTION OF THE VESTRY
OF REISTERSTOWN PARISH
OF BALTIMORE COUNTY, MARYLAND
(ALL SAINTS’ EPISCOPAL CHURCH)
JULY 13, 2006
WHEREAS certain actions, inactions, and statements by the General
Convention of The Episcopal Church (United States of America) in 2003
and 2006 have posed challenges to the unity of the Church and its status
as a constituent member of the Anglican Communion, as evidenced by
recent communications from Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury,
and numerous other primates of the Communion;
and,
WHEREAS we recognize the vital importance of our provincial, diocesan
and parochial accountability to a wider body of believers in the
Anglican tradition to ensure adherence to the core doctrines of the
Christian faith and to demonstrate accord with the shared catholicity of
this faith as embodied in the Anglican Communion;
We the Vestry of Reisterstown Parish, County of Baltimore, Maryland (All
Saints’ Episcopal Church) do hereby resolve:
1. To declare ourselves to be in full agreement with the contents of The
Windsor Report of the Lambeth Commission on Communion (a.k.a. The
Windsor Report), and to express our desire and intention to fully comply
with all of its requests insofar as this is possible on the parochial
level;
2. To take whatever other actions are necessary for this parish to
remain as a constituent member of the Anglican Communion; and
3. To affiliate with likeminded Christians by re-affirming the Statement
of Conscience of Maryland Confessing Episcopalians and by affiliating
with the American Anglican Council, “a community of faith uniting
individuals, parishes, and specialized ministries who affirm a common
understanding of the traditional biblical and catholic faith within the
Anglican Communion” by fully endorsing The American Anglican Council
Parish Covenant and its statement of faith A Place to Stand: A Call to
Mission. (Supporting documents are attached.)
